Christmas brings out the most amazing generosity in EVERYONE!

Thank-you to Home Instead for organizing the “Be a Santa to a Senior” program where a gift and a visit is provided to every resident at Oliver Lodge.  The manpower and organization involved in making this possible is so generous and appreciated.

London Drugs partnered with Oliver Lodge once again this year to provide the program “Stocking Stuffers for Seniors” where customers are encouraged to pick a name off of the Christmas tree and purchase a suggested gift for them.  The gifts are then returned to the store and delivered to the residents at Oliver Lodge.

Gifts were also provided through the Sasktel Pioneers “Wish Angel” program to a handful of residents who may not be in the position to receive a gift during the Christmas season.  Members of DirectWest organized and delivered the gifts to Oliver Lodge.

There were also complete strangers to Oliver Lodge who wanted to give back.  Colette McCarthy contacted us to see what she could do to help out at this time of year.  Gift suggestions were given for some of our less fortunate residents and additional items were also provided to share with residents.  She and her sister, Louise Black, enjoyed the experience and thanked us for allowing them to “fill their hearts with happiness”.

who could use a bit more love and support at Christmas time.

This was also the first year that we partnered with the Saskatoon Home Support Senior Care “Adopt a Senior” program.  We were paired up with a group from Air Canada Jazz.  They came to visit with some of our residents and provided a gift as well.

All of the engaging visits, thoughtful gifts and joyous connections are greatly appreciated by the residents who received them and everyone involved at Oliver Lodge who get to see the benefits of such generous involvement.

Thank-you and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
